Pretty cool fish
at 7:35 pm on March 14, 2023
Pretty cool fish Osamu Matsumoto was fishing Beppu Bay, Japan, on January 5, 2023, when he landed this 3.38-kilogram (7-pound, 7-ounce) white horsehead. With this fish Osamu can potentially set the IGFA All-Tackle World Record for the species. He was able to land the potential record horsehead after it struck his shrimp. Matsumoto’s fish would top the current record, a 3-kilogram (6-pound, 10-ounce) fish, landed just 2 months prior. This record is currently pending and under review.

Nice note from the Recreation Fishing Alliance regarding the proposed 10 knot speed limit offshore. Take time to message to your elected members of Congress. ACTION ALERT: THE FIGHT'S NOT OVER CONTACT YOUR CONGRESSMAN! Federal government’s go-slow zones would cripple East Coast boating and fishing. Contact your Member of Congress to demand that NOAA put the proposed rule on pause! RFA thanks you for making your voices heard on NOAA's proposed 10-knot restrictions. Thousands of anglers and boaters like you have voiced their concerns over the serious flaws of this proposal. Now we need our leaders in Congress to help us turn the tide and pause this rule until reasonable solutions can be found. Please demand that they weigh in! We urge you to utilize this pre-written letter to your member of Congress. Remember, if finalized, vessels 35 feet and larger would have to travel 10 knots (11.5 mph) or slower on essentially the entire Atlantic Coast for as long as seven months of the year. This rule was developed largely behind closed doors without your stakeholder input up until the public comment period. It's essential that we act now to oppose this ill-conceived rule that will cripple the recreational saltwater fishing and boating industry. Download the letter below and send it to your Member of Congress today!
